Privacy Policy

HeyCoach is a product of Massively Parallel Thoughts, LLC ("we", "us"). HeyCoach is a nutrition-coaching service delivered through WhatsApp. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it, in plain language.

What we collect

Your WhatsApp phone number and profile name — this is how your account is identified. We never see your WhatsApp password or your other chats.
What you send the coach: messages, food photos, voice notes, and documents you choose to share (such as lab results), plus the profile details you provide during setup (age, height, weight, activity, goals).
Derived coaching data: your meal log, calorie/macro estimates, weight entries, the coach's notes about your preferences and goals, and daily summaries.
The coach's work on your data: each estimate the AI produced for a photo or message, the published brand nutrition it looked up, the coach's replies, and what you did next — confirmed it, corrected it ("it was only half"), or cancelled it. We keep these alongside the photo or message they were about.
Payment data: subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

SEO page analytics

On our blog articles and calculator pages, we count page loads and clicks on the WhatsApp button to understand which content is useful. Our first-party analytics stores only the public page path, UTC day, and aggregate counts for up to 365 days. It does not store visitor identifiers, IP addresses, referring URLs, query strings, calculator inputs or results, or WhatsApp messages, and it does not connect these counts to chat accounts or payments. We use no cookies or browser storage for this tracking and honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. The collector uses the request IP transiently for rate limiting; it is not saved in the analytics database.

Separately, our public website uses Google Analytics to measure page traffic and WhatsApp button clicks. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes browser and device information. We configure it with the public canonical page URL, omit the referring page URL, and disable Google signals and advertising personalization. Our button-click events contain only public page identifiers, language, and button placement; they do not contain calculator measurements, calculator results, or WhatsApp messages. We do not load Google Analytics when your browser signals Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. This Google service is separate from our aggregate-only first-party counts. How we use it

To provide the service — estimating your meals, tracking your progress, and personalizing the coaching — and to improve it, as described in the next section. Photos, voice notes, documents and messages are processed by AI providers as data processors on our behalf: Fireworks AI and Google (Gemini) for meal estimation and coaching, Cloudflare Workers AI for voice transcription, and OpenAI for the optional progress charts. Messages are delivered through the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta). We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Improving the coach

We keep what you send the coach and how the coach handled it — your messages, food photos, voice notes, the estimates it produced, the corrections you made and the replies it gave — for as long as your account is active, and we use them to evaluate and improve HeyCoach. This includes training our own models to recognise food and portions from photos and to coach better. Before any of your data is used for training we remove your phone number and profile name.

If you would rather your data were not used this way, email hi@heycoach.chat with the subject "No training" and we will exclude your account. The coaching works exactly the same either way.

Health information

If you share lab results or health goals, we store them to tailor your nutrition coaching. HeyCoach is not a medical service, does not diagnose or treat anything, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Share only what you are comfortable sharing — the coach works fine without it.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored in your own isolated record on Cloudflare's infrastructure, keyed to your phone number. Your meal log, photos, voice notes, conversation history, profile and coach notes are kept while your account is active. When the coach answers you it only looks at the current day's conversation, not your whole history.

Your controls

Message "memories" to see what the coach remembers, and "forget" to remove any of it.
Email hi@heycoach.chat to request a copy of your data or full deletion — we complete deletions within 30 days.
Email hi@heycoach.chat with the subject "No training" to keep your data out of model training (see Improving the coach).

Deleting your data

You can request deletion of everything HeyCoach holds about you at any time:

Email hi@heycoach.chat with the subject "Delete my data" and include the WhatsApp phone number you use with HeyCoach (so we can locate your record).
We will confirm the request by messaging that WhatsApp number, then permanently delete your profile, meal log, weight entries, photos, voice notes, lab documents, coach notes and conversation history within 30 days.
You will receive a confirmation once the deletion is complete.

Deletion also removes your records from the data we use to improve the coach, so they are never used again; a model that was already trained on de-identified data before your request is not retrained. Two things survive deletion: payment records kept by Stripe that we are legally required to retain for tax and accounting purposes, and nothing else. Deleting your data closes your account; you can always start fresh later by messaging the coach again. You can also remove individual coach notes at any time without deleting your account — message "forget" in the chat.
